John and Christy from Alaska

It was great to have John and Christy stop by and visit on their trip back home to Alaska. Needless to say they recognized our version of beer 30. Pretty much the same as Guaymas, but more Bud than Tecate.

The group, from left to right is: Kim and John McClaine, John from Alaska, Sean, Gary,, Christy and Stella at Johns feet.

This beer 30 session was spent getting to know John and Christy and planning for bother John and my trip north to Alaska this fall. Since John and Christy live on Spenser Island in Kodiac, you can say they are off the grid in a big way. Brother John will be a great help bringIng some of their dead motors back to life.

I have been relegated to reading books and meal preparation. I added a picture of a little something I just made a few minutes ago to whet their appetites.

We went to Tony’s for dinner and John said, ”the best steak I have had in a long time”. For those of you who don’t know the McClaine family history, Tony’s in Walnut Grove is a great place that our mom and dad went to every Saturday night for 60 years.Tony added a table for two in the corner and reserved it for mom and dad. The place could be standing room only with a hour or more wait and no one could sit at their table.

Tony is gone, mom and dad are gone and the table is gone, but the legend lives on.
