A lot of things have transpired since 2013, mostly good, but a few bummers. The ice maker didn’t make the grade and the “forward looking underwater sonar” devices are not reasonably priced. So, if we hit a submerged container and sink like the “Titanic “, we will have to have our last cocktails warm. Joking aside, Footloose is well equipped and we have all the latest in electronics to keep us safe and on course.
I could not have made it this far without the help and support of so many of you. I would like to thank the 2 Jim’s (Barron and Brodale) and Doryce for their financial and moral support. Doryce, thanks so far, for not having the Mafia drill holes. My boat consultant “The Frenchman” Jon Michel Raoult for all his help and input. Thanks Darryl for being there when I needed help and thank you Jennifer for all you have done and continue doing.
Now, changes to the start of the adventure. Instead of doing the traditional, down to Mexico, then cross over to the Marquesses, I will now go directly to Hawaii. After Hawaii, I will head south, probably American Samoa, but it could be Tahiti. Whatever course I take, you can see exactly where I am. New technology makes it so easy. Just install one of the new AIS marine apps on your phone or iPad and on their search line keyin “Foot Loose” and the app will show you exactly where I am.
